TNAOI is a non-profit organization started at Yercaud in 1997 and it is the distinguished state chapter operating under the parent body, the Association of Otolaryngologists of India (AOI).
It is registered under "The Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975 (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 1975).

The Tamilnadu Association of Otolaryngologists of India (TNAOI) is a distinguished state chapter operating under the parent body, the Association of Otolaryngologists of India (AOI). TNAOI represents ENT specialists across Tamil Nadu and is committed to the advancement of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery through education, research, and excellence in clinical practice.
As an active chapter of AOI, TNAOI plays a vital role in contributing to the national vision by organizing state-level conferences, hands-on workshops, CME programs, and academic activities that keep members updated with the latest medical and surgical advancements.
The association also serves as a platform for collaboration among professionals, fostering mentorship, encouraging young practitioners, and promoting ethical standards in medical practice. Community outreach and public health awareness on ENT-related issues are integral to our mission.
With strong roots in Tamil Nadu and alignment with the objectives of AOI, TNAOI continues to be a dynamic and respected voice in the ENT medical community, dedicated to improving patient outcomes and supporting professional growth.
How to become a member of TNAOI?
To become a member of the Tamilnadu State Association of Otolaryngologists of India (TNAOI)—the state chapter of the national Association of Otolaryngologists of India (AOI)—you would typically follow these steps:

Check Eligibility

Life Membership: ENT specialists (MBBS + MS/DLO/DNB in ENT)

Associate Membership: Post-graduate trainees currently enrolled in an ENT residency

Obtain Nomination

Your application must be supported by two Life Members of the TNAOI in good standing, as per AOI bylaws .

Submit Application

Download, submit your completed application—typically including personal details, qualifications, and nomination—addressed to the Honorary Secretary of TNAOI.

Pay Membership Fees
-
Pay the appropriate fee for Life Membership (₹3,000, subject to current bylaws).

Fees are reviewed and ratified annually by the Executive Committee.

Approval Process

Upon approval and receipt of payment, your name is entered into the official membership register.

Life Members can vote in General body meetings

Receive the TNAOI Journal and other communications

The Association of Otolaryngologists of India (AOI) is the largest and oldest professional association of ENT Surgeons of India.
Due to hardwork and perseverance of over the years, of our esteemed seniors, AOI has grown by leaps and bound to the largest association of ENT surgeons in India with a life membership subscription.
For our PostGraduate Students and younger colleagues, TN AOI has always endeavoured to advance education in Otolaryngology with an aim of exchanging knowledge through its CMEs and other Programs.
TNAOI Annual conference is held with a view of providing a common platform for all members to enhance and update their scientific knowledge. Renowned Surgeons and experts in Otolaryngology from India and abraoad are invited to 28th State TNAOI conference - KOODAL 2026 to disseminate their knowledge, skills, teaching protocols and research based training for the benefit of all delegates.
